Today well lived...

 

"Today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope.  Look well, therefore, to this day." -Indian Proverb

This quote has been on my mind lately. I really think it is true. If I'm making good choices this day, i remember the past with fondness and i recognize the good and i feel more hope for the future. In contrast, if i'm not making good choices this day, even with just allowing negative thoughts, regrets from the past creep in and fear and anxiety for the future do too. Makes me see the scripture "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve..." in a new way.  It doesn't matter so much what i chose in the past for good or bad, but this day is what counts.  Each day i want to choose to serve the Lord and not the distractions of the world.
